Action Performed:

1. Open the Expensify app.
2. Sign up with a new account.
3. Complete onboarding selecting “Track and budget expenses”
4. Once onboarding is finished, tap on FAB and select “Start Chat”
5. Start a new room conversation.
6. Type "@" on compose box.
7. Note that suggestions list opens, but only one suggestion is visible.
8. Try to scroll to other suggestions on list.
9. Note that list can´t be scrolled.
10. Close keyboard with device´s back button.
11. Note that still only one suggestion is visible and list can´t be scrolled.

Expected Result:

User should be able to scroll through suggestions list while mentioning another user while on landscape mode.

Actual Result:

Mentions suggestions list can´t be scrolled while on landscape mode. Only one suggestion can be seen.

Evidence

• The bug occurs only in landscape mode on Android phones, which is exactly the orientation that PR Unlock landscape mode #85229 unlocked
• The issue is staging-only (marked "new feature, does not exist in prod"), consistent with this being a newly merged PR
• The melvin-bot automatically linked PR Unlock landscape mode #85229 to this issue
• PR Unlock landscape mode #85229 is in the StagingDeployCash checklist and was merged on 2026-04-07, immediately before this bug was reported

Verification

• The affected component is src/components/AutoCompleteSuggestions/index.tsx
• PR Unlock landscape mode #85229 modifies src/hooks/useResponsiveLayout/index.native.ts to add isInLandscapeMode, and includes many other landscape-related layout fixes across the app, but does NOT update AutoCompleteSuggestions/index.tsx
• The file list for PR Unlock landscape mode #85229 confirms it does not touch AutoCompleteSuggestions/index.tsx or BaseAutoCompleteSuggestions.tsx

Root Cause

In AutoCompleteSuggestions/index.tsx, the suggestion container height and bottom position are calculated using windowHeight. In landscape mode on a phone (e.g., Motorola MotoG60), windowHeight is the smaller dimension (~360px). The available space between the keyboard top and the composer is drastically reduced in landscape. The measureHeightOfSuggestionRows function caps small-screen containers at SMALL_CONTAINER_HEIGHT_FACTOR * SUGGESTION_ROW_HEIGHT = 2.5 * 40 = 100px, but the bottomValue calculation (windowHeight - cursorY - keyboardHeight) leaves so little room that the Animated.View container height is constrained to a single row. Additionally, the overflow: hidden on autoCompleteSuggestionsContainer prevents the FlatList from scrolling beyond the animated container bounds. This component was not updated alongside the rest of the landscape mode changes in PR #85229.
