Drop column syntax inconsistency

Describe the bug
In the context of CSV file, any capitalised column headers need to be wrapped with double quotation, but when it comes to .drop(col_name), the double quotation is not needed all of a sudden.

To Reproduce
df.drop('"ID_For_Students"') -> This should work but it didn't
df.drop('ID_For_Students') -> This worked instead

Expected behavior
df.drop('"ID_For_Students"') -> This should be the correct & standardised syntax for CSV file column headers with capitalisation.

I wanted to take a stab at this issue, but I am not sure about it because if we are writing python code, then "Col_Id1" === 'Col_Id1', I mean in pure python that would be the expectation.
That said double quotes are indeed supported but mainly in engines with SQL support, for example, doing something like

duckdb.query('SELECT "ID_For_Students" FROM students').to_df()

so I am not sure if we want to deviate too much from other pure python based libraries (e.g., pandas , Polars)

For the benefit of my knowledge, would like to check with @timsaucer and @renato2099 if you knew about the rationale behind the design of double quote syntax for capitalised csv header.
