Issue Summary
When adding an existing user to an organization and then removing them, the user’s account appears to lose its existing state and is incorrectly treated as a new user. After removal, the user is redirected to the Cal.com onboarding flow, as if their account data has been reset or deleted.
This behavior suggests that removing a user from an organization may unintentionally affect their core user account data or onboarding status, which should remain independent of organization membership.
Steps to Reproduce
- Log in with an existing Cal.com user account (with completed onboarding).
- Create or access an organization.
- Add the existing user to the organization.
- Remove the user from the organization.
- Log in again as the removed user (or refresh session).
Additional context:
- The user was already fully onboarded before being added to the organization.
- The issue occurs immediately after removal from the org.
Actual Results
- The user is redirected to the onboarding screen.
- Existing account state appears to be lost or ignored.
- The system behaves as if the user is a new user.
Expected Results
- Removing a user from an organization should not affect their core account data.
- The user should retain:
- Their onboarding completion state
- Their personal account settings and data
- After removal, the user should continue using Cal.com normally without re-onboarding.
