- use common library - use function type instead of hardcoding function as in openmp code
- don't use scanf, read number intervals from command line instead
just tests that the applications execute, do not validate the results. useful to see the commands needed to run the executables, use make verbose-test (or ctest -V) to see the commands executed. requested by bjørnar brende smestad

... assuming you meant to use either gamma or beta, and possibly some slightly too fast refactoring when changing sizes. Pull requests are neat.
