Retire — CentOS 8 is EOL and this guide documents an outdated Drupal 8 update workflow executed through deprecated Drush 8 commands. It depends on other obsolete CentOS 8 guides (LAMP, Drush) and does not reflect modern Drupal 10/11 or Composer based update practices. Replacement content is needed for Rocky Linux 9, AlmaLinux 9, and Ubuntu 22.04/24.04 to align with current Drupal and Drush workflows.
