Retire — CentOS 8 is EOL and this guide documents an outdated Drush installation method using a deprecated Git clone workflow tied to Drupal 8 era tooling. It depends on other obsolete CentOS 8 guides and does not reflect modern Composer based Drush installation practices. Replacement content is needed for Rocky/AlmaLinux 9 and Ubuntu 22.04/24.04 to align with current Drupal 10/11 workflows.
Related work: PR #7334 updates OS installation content. While it does not replace this guide, it may serve as a model for future modernization efforts.
