Thanks, @sorochak! Looks great. Let's see what input we get to refine the wording before merging. |

To help plan changes to the list of OHW26 sponsors, here are the ones I think we can include already:
We often include as "sponsors" at least some of the organizers' home institutions / affiliations, even if they don't provide any funds or in-kind support strictly speaking. If we want to do that this year, we can retain from the OHW25 sponsors list: APL, Gulf of Maine Research Institute, and NMFS Open Science (affiliations for Emilio, Christian Sarason, Alex, and Eli) All others can probably be removed. |

Fixed a couple photos and updated the sponsors list. |
- Make Applicant info / faq page visible. Made small updates to it. - Include in both pages admonition about application opening soon, and need for registratin fee - Add eScience logo

| Due to funding limitations for OHW, **this year we will likely charge a registration fee** to cover shortfalls in lodging and meals support. We're doing everything we can to keep costs low and provide opportunities for additional support to participants with the greatest need. |

** this year we may not be able to provide free-of-charge lodging and meals to participants. We're doing everything...
How about the above? charge may sound like we are having extra invisible charges, but this is directly going to their room and board. Some conferences have registrations fees and separately one needs to pay for their travel and lodging.

I would get rid of 'likely' or 'may', and instead replace with something along the lines with 'we are trying to have scholarships to offset the registration cost'.
If we can scrape up 34k in the next few weeks we can over-deliver and make it free for everyone accepted, otherwise we can use what we manage to find to knock it down for those who really need it.

Should we add a sentence: We are still in search of sponsors to support student participation. If you are part of an institution that could potentially provide even small funding support, we will be happy to have a conversation with you. |
Working with @sorochak to get this first ohw26 commit out. We'll keep the PR in draft mode until others can chime in and refine the text, esp. the text describing current status and prospects. All the new, publicly exposed ohw26 content needs to be updated.
I copied the
ohw25directory to createohw26, then minimally edited just theohw26index and organizers pages, teams.yamland the website front page admonition. I hid links to all other documents in theohw26directory (copied fromohw25), so those unedited pages won't be publicly accessible. Some notes:
teams.yamlonly to people who were already in the file (though I did add Dwight -- he should've been there from OHW25). So, it's missing several organizers
